John H Foard

Foard, John H. 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by love leaving and is now surrounded by love forever on Sunday Nov. 4, 2012. He was born in Hardin, Montana on December 26, 1924 to Arthur and Vera Foard. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers. John is survived by his wife, Barbara of the family home; his sisters Reatha Pack and husband Bud of Rapid City, SD; and Regina Williams of Laramie, WY; his daughters, Elena Womack and husband Ed of Elk City, OK; Colleen Grayson and husband Steve; Collette Foard and husband, Michael Otero; his son, Kenny Milligan and wife Kim; all of Magdalena, NM; his grandchildren, Robin Womack; Phillip Grayson; Denise Grayson; J.T. Milligan; Ryan Milligan; and Bryce Milligan; his loving nieces and nephews; and many close friends. John served in the US Army during WWII under General Patton. He came to New Mexico in the mid 1940&s. John worked for the H.C. Badger Co. on several ranches until he went to work as a government trapper in 1963. He retired in 1989 after 26 years of service. John had a love for music, he was an accomplished musician who played for his first dance at age 5. He was the New Mexico State Fiddle Champion in 1976. John also loved working with leather, building saddles and boots for several people. He had a special way about him. He was always eager to share his talents and knowledge with family and friends. His greatest joy was his family, his children and especially his grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Magdalena Schools Fine Arts building. Interment will follow in the Magdalena Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Milligan, Collette Foard, Kenny Milligan, Steve Grayson, Michael Otero, and Courtney Borman. Honorary Pallbearers are Robin Womack, Phillip Grayson, Denise Grayson, JT Milligan, Bryce Milligan, and Claudie Foard.
