John Gatchel

Mr. John Gatchel passed on April 24th, 2022, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, at the age of 76 years old.

John is survived by his loving wife Olga, son Juan Carlos, daughter Lucy, and grandchildren Emiliana and Martin. John is preceded in death by his mother Mary Anne Gatchel, father John P. Gatchel, and brother David Gatchel.

John was born in February of 1946 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Port Jefferson High School and graduated in June of 1964. John then went on Stony Brook University and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelors’ Degree in History. John married Ms. Olga Bautista in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, on Saturday, February 24th, 1979. They were married for 43 years.

John was employed by the New Mexico State Bank Examiner for 30 years, during which time he also owned and operated his own business, New Mexico Realty.
