John Carl Lombardo

John Carl Lombardo, age 87, passed away August 11, 2019.  He was born on  May 1, 1932 to Mario and Carrie Lombardo, in Buffalo, New York.  He attended Canisius College, Buffalo, NY where he received a PHD in Law in 1954.  He also received a Masters in Education in 1987 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.  John served in the United Stated Army from 1956-1959.  He married the love of his life, Marie Tromba, on May 2, 1956 in Buffalo, NY.  They have been married for 63 years.  John was a published author and loved reading, history, bowling, camping and spending time with his wife and family.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and served as a youth minister, CCD teacher, and Eucharistic Minister        for St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. His special quote was "Cosi, Cosi."

John is preceded in death by his parents, Mario and Carrie Lombardo,; brother, Nicholas Lombardo; and sister, Rosemary Lombardo.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie; daughters, Ceit (Robert) Murgel, Mary (Robert) Fletcher, Judith (Al) Carroll, Renee Lombardo; sons, John (Terri) Lombardo, David Lombardo, Thomas Lombardo, Timothy Lombardo, Michael (Tammie) Lombardo, Robert (Luna) Lombardo; 18 gandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Connie Appenheimer; sister-in-law, Mary Lombardo.

Services will begin with open visitation at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 19, St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1001 Meteor Ave NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144, followed by recitation of Rosary at 11:00 a.m. and Celebration of Mass at 11:30 a.m.

Interment will be announced at a later date.
