John MacLeigh

Former New Mexico resident, John MacLeigh, passed in his sleep the morning of December 23, 2020 at the age of 85 at his home in Datil, New Mexico with his loving granddaughter Mariah by his side.  Loving father of Lisa, Tammy, John & Teresa, loving grandfather of Joshua, Katelynne, Tyler, Alex, Skyler, Maxen and of course Mariah who was fortunate enough to spend the last few weeks with him as they planned many new adventures together for the upcoming New Year.  Dad was the happiest when his real family was close to him.  John is further survived by his first love and the mother of his children, Zola and was thankful they were able to reconnect the last year of his life bringing him many happy moments knowing his family finally found him again and that he was truly loved by those who knew him the best!  John will be fondly remembered by family as a loving father, proud patriot and Army & Navy veteran. John's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quality of time in which one lives.  His gentle smile brought so much joy to his daughter Teresa, and grandchildren, Joshua & Mariah who were fortunate enough to spend his final days with.
