Miceli, John W. Age 87, resident of Rio Rancho, passed away October 5, 2012, on the shoulder of his loving wife Mary, after a long illness. John was born in Chicago on April 26, 1925, and served proudly in WWII as a nose gunner in a B24 with the 8th Air Force. He is survived by his wife of 65 years and 11 children; Jim (Carol), Peg (Jerry), Tina (Peter), Jean (Walter), Nancy (Walter), John (Tami), Mary (Rick), Peter (Cynthia), Frank (Mary), Pat (John) and Sam (Ewa). Also by his 22 grandchildren; Megan (Mike), Katie (TJ), and Sarah (Julian); Nicholas, Emily and Samantha; Philip; Lauren and Max; Claire and Grace; Joseph, Nathan and Isabelle; Jack; Jessica; Amelia, Marie and Tara; Christopher, Allie and Kasia; and two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Geoffrey. He is also survived by his loving sister, Tina (Tony). In addition to his service in WWII, John filled the first part of his life supporting his large family with humor and patience, swimming trips on Friday nights and summer trips to the family��?�s cottage in Waupaca, Wisconsin. In 1989, John and Mary moved to Rio Rancho where he was active with the 8th Air Force Historical Society and a member of the Smokey Bear balloon crew. He proudly competed in the Senior Olympics, and discovered untapped skills as a pool player and wood carver. He lived fully, was a wonderful role model to many and will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
