Moore, John Owen

Age 88, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019. He was born in Pennington, TX on February 28, 1931, to John Frank and Susie (King) Moore. He graduated from Groveton School in 1949. John served as a Private 1st Class in the Army from 1949- 1952, serving in the Korean War. He received the Meritorious Unit Medal, Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star, 6 Bronze Star Medals, Silver Star Medal, National Defense Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation Badge, Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar. John married Sharon Mills on November 18, 1971 in Houston, TX.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, watching western movies and The Dallas Cowboys.

John was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jack Moore, Tom Moore, Charlie Moore, Miles Moore, Peggy Sue Moore, Norene Avery.

John is survived by his wife of 48 years by his wife, Sharon Moore; children, Cheryl Marsh and husband Bo, Keith Mason and wife Karelyn, Doris Tinagero and husband Skip; brother, James L. Moore; grandchildren, Michael, Kristopher, Ashley, Heather, Max, Jason, Eric, Blair; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Brielle, Korbin.

A Visitation will be held at 10:30 am Friday, December 20, 2019, at  Daniels Family Funeral Services, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:30.

Private Family Graveside Service will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe.
