John R. Sorensen

Sorensen, John R. Age 94, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, one day after his 94th birthday. Born and raised in Necedah, WI, he is survived by his wife of 62 years, Delores. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Josephine Sorensen, and two brothers, Leo and Warren. Many nieces, nephews and cousins will miss Uncle John. John was a fighter pilot during WWII flying 56 dive bomb missions in Africa, Italy and Sicily, leaving the service a Lt. Colonel. Upon retirement, he gave up his beloved lake cottage and fishing in Wisconsin for golf and better weather in New Mexico. As in all his endeavors, he excelled in golf and had two holes-in-one. John and his wife moved from Belen, NM to Albuquerque, and finally to Fairwinds Retirement Community in Rio Rancho. Interment will take place in Necedah, WI in the family plot.
