John J.B."" Tabor

TABOR- John B. "J.B." Tabor Jr., 71, passed away November 7, 2010. He was born February 9, 1939 to Dolly Edna and J.B. Tabor Sr. in Stamford, Texas. J.B. was a resident of Alpine since 1978, living before that in the Texas panhandle. Moving to the Alpine area as manager of West Texas Utilities, where he worked for almost 40 years. He was very active in many groups from Lions Club, NRA, TSRA, Highway 67 Association and too many others to mention. J.B. was an avid golfer and loved hunting, especially with his son Bryan and grandsons. J.B. was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind two sons, Bryan Tabor and wife Deanna of McKinney, Texas and Jon Tabor of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Brother Charlie Tabor and wife Beverly of Texas; stepson Michael Wilson and wife Cheryl of Austin, Texas; two grandsons; three step grandsons; long time companion Sassy; and many friends. J.B. was preceded in death by his loving wife Paula who left this world in 2008; his daughter Rebecca Lee; and many faithful hunting dogs. Cremation has taken place. He will be placed with Paula in their plot in Funston, Texas. The family request that no flowers be sent, instead go out and play a round of golf, go hunting and do a beer toast to a great life lived, or donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
