John Wesley Wallace III was born on Saturday, October 4, 1952, and entered the LORD’S Rest on Monday, November 13, 2023.
John, the oldest of seven, was born in Montclair, NJ to John Wesley Wallace Jr. and Barbara Lilian (Hullinger) Wallace. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother David. He married Rosaline Sarah (Loudon) on May 5, 1973. They were happily married for 50 years.
Working with programmable controllers and anything electronic made him a happy man. It was this work that brought his family to Rio Rancho, NM in 1988. He continued in this field, first retiring from Intel in 2012, but returning shortly thereafter to engineering work until his death. John dedicated 33 years as a fire fighter and licensed EMT with fire departments in Hackettstown, NJ, Rio Rancho, NM, Placitas, NM, Algodones, NM, and Corrales, NM. As an active member of his church, John served in whatever capacity that was needed: deacon, preaching, handyman, etc. John was actively involved in Boy Scouts as a youth, accomplishing Order of the Arrow, and then with his two sons.
John is survived by his wife Rosaline of Rio Rancho, NM; son John Wesley Wallace IV of Belen, NM and children (John Wesley V, Caelie, and Thomas); son Matthew (Rebecca) of Albuquerque, NM and children (Emily and Ewan); sister-in-law Tina Wallace of Belleville, IL; brother Robert (Jennifer) of Saylorsburg, PA; brother Timothy (Theresa) of Fletchers, NC; brother Paul (Robin) of Washington, NJ; sister Margaret of Washington, NJ; brother Stephen (Angela) of Greentown, PA, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
John was loved and respected by those who knew him and had the opportunity and privilege of meeting him. He was a man who led many to better themselves by example and council.
May we all strive to carry on his legacy.
