JOHNNIE T. APODACA, 77, a resident of Farmington since 1965 passed away early Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Heart Hospital of Albuquerque. Johnnie was born August 31, 1931 in Albuquerque the son of Juan Apodaca and Louisa (Trujillo) Apodaca. Johnnie was employed with the City of Farmington for twelve years and El Paso Natural Gas Company for thirteen years and most recently at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He was an active, faithful and lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Farmington. Johnnie was also a member of Legion of Mary for over 33 years. He also loved music and especially playing and singing in the choir at St. Mary's. Johnnie loved to be surrounded by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Johnnie is survived by his wife of 53 years Clara (Maestas) Apodaca of Farmington; children, daughter, Dee Malagon Hernandez and husband Rigo also of Farmington, daughter Priscilla Jackson and husband DeWayne of Bloomfield, Donna Martinez and husband Leroy of Cebolla, son, David Apodaca and wife Irene of Farmington and daughter Yvonne Martinez of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers Mela Apodaca, Fabola Estrada and husband Gene, Luis Apodaca, Juan Chavez and Fedelina Apodaca. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Ronnie Apodaca, sister Julia Chavez and brother Ramon Apodaca. Pallbearers are Claudy Apodaca, Ramon Apodaca, Richard Maestas, Leroy Chavez, Jesus Aranjo and Alex Lovato. Honorary pallbearers are all of Johnnie's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
