Jolene Marie Popolato passed away and was called to her eternal resting place on November 15, 2021. She was born in Albuquerque on July 4, 1953 and was the 5th child of Bennie and Olinda Lovato. She loved New Mexico and spent most of her life in the state.
She attended Albuquerque High School and Albuquerque Technical/Vocational Institute. She worked at Elastamold and Singer Company in Albuquerque and at Omark Industries in Portland, Oregon. For over 25 years, Jolene worked as a Dispatcher for both the City of Albuquerque and the Water Authority. She retired in 2007.
Jolene loved animals and generously supported organizations helping animals that suffered from abuse and neglect. She was also a generous supporter of homeless shelters, children’s hospitals and causes that assisted Native Americans.
She loved gardening and working in the yard. She was an artist and loved to draw.
Jolene is survived by her husband, Joe Popolato, her brothers, Carl Lovato and Phillip Lovato and her sister Peggy Lewis, along with their families.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 11th, 2022, at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel. A Visitation will begin at 10:00AM going until 11:00AM, Memorial Service will begin at 11:00AM. Note: It has been a number of months since the passing of our beloved Jolene on November 15, 2021. The Memorial Service has been delayed until this time due to Covid restrictions and to enable relatives that live far away with health issues the opportunity to attend.
