Age 36, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020. He was born in Espanola, NM on October 24, 1983. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Juan Samuel and Bernadita Duran; Aunt Mary Duran; Aunt Marlene Duran, and Aunt Patsy Martinez; cousins Renee and Janet Chavez. .

Jose is survived by his maternal grandparents, Benilda Deaguero and Arturo Chavez; mother, Jackie McWhorter (Randy); father, Phillip Duran; sister, Felicia (Vivis); brother Miguel Duran; his daughters whom he loved very much, Bryanna and Nevaeh; his wife, Jennifer Duran; in-laws, Billy and Kim Quintana; Spike who was his boy. His nephews, Armando, Marc, and Christopher; niece, Anahy; cousins: Joshua (Erminda), Chris, Crystal, Pamela (Ricardo), Kenny (Sierra); aunts and uncles: Leroy (Patsy); Emilio (JoAnne) Duran; Rita (Kenny) Salazar; Ricky; Johnny (Christine); Larry; Jerrell Chavez; Nancy (Allen) Sisneros; Florence (Luis) Lucero. His godchildren: Monique Salazar and Gabriel Martinez; and many other cousins, family, and friends.

Jose had a big heart and loved making his family and friends laugh while cracking a funny joke. He had a unique laugh that lit up the room when you were around. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, dirt bikes and boating. He was always willing to help anyone and everyone no matter what time it was and needed.

At age 14 he fell in love with the love of his life, Jennifer. They were together 22 years and married 16 years. They had their first daughter Bryanna who was born on June 4, 2002. He was so happy and filled with joy. Bryanna was his "BooBoo", he was always so proud of her; always supported her with her singing whatever she wanted to do. Most importantly he was proud of her big achievement, being a 2020 graduated. On November 21, 2006 they had their second daughter Nevaeh who he called "Lou"; she was his personal masseuse and his shadow, always wanting to be by his side. Jose was full of life even when he was feeling down; he always would make you laugh. Jose had many friends that looked up to him. Everywhere he went, he would make a friend. Jose will be missed and forever in our hearts.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
