Jose "Joe" Trancito Gutierrez

Jose "Joe" Trancito Gutierrez, age 71, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, was embraced by the Lord and taken to Eternal Life, Wednesday, May 21, 2014. He was born in Cuba, NM to the late Adonay and Edith Gutierrez, and was a resident of Corrales, NM. Joe served his country in the United States Army; he was a member of the American Legion Post # 69. He enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to music and singing. Joe was a hard worker and retired from the University of New Mexico. Joe will be fondly remembered as the jokester of the family, and a kind and loving person who loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Gutierrez; and his sister, Grace Duran. Joe is survived by his loving children, Frank Gutierrez and wife Jennifer, Julia Gutierrez, and Ruben Gutierrez; his precious grandchildren, Devonna, Jade, and Caleb, Juan, Frank Jr., David, Jacob, Markus; and his great-grandchildren, Dana Rose, Grace, and David Jr. also surviving are his loving sisters, Rosemary Shank and husband Ken, Evelyn Lucero and husband Frank, Norma Phillips and husband Gary, Emma Bogdonovich and husband Joe, Pauline Herrera and husband Cayetano, Christine Maestas and husband Gabe; his brothers, Gilbert and Fred Gutierrez; brother-in-law, Eustacio Duran; his good friend and the mother of his children, Sarah Gutierrez; and other numerous relatives and friends. Joe will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales, NM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro NE. Pallbearers will be Juan Manzares, David Garcia, Markus Gutierrez, Sam Dominguez, Frank Gutierrez, Jr., and Jacob Gutierrez. Honorary Bearers will be Rudy Romero and Jenaro Garza.
