Jose Mata

March 17, 1920 — July 30, 2014

Jos Papi or Papito Alberto Mata (Espinosa Bolaos de los Monteros) was 94 years young when he was called Home. He gave so much to others whom he met. It was not what he did, as it was who he was with others. Many who met Jos said that he had a loving effect on them. Those who only met him once, would later ask about him weeks or months later. He was a man of faith, giving blessings, a romantic, and of humor. He was a human being, as he said, capable of mistakes. But he was above all of great joy and generosity. He saw people and the love that they were. He was present. He was a follower of the most loving God and His Son, Jesus Christ. His favorite saying was: Love one another, as I have loved you. As Jesus the Christ stated to his Apostles. Papito Jos was a wonderful example of loving, forgiving, and moving forward with allegria (joy). Jos or "Papi" (as he was also known) leaves behind his family of blood and heart, his friends, and this beautiful Vida (life) that he so enjoyed. Joss immediate family: Fernando Alberto Mata (eldest son), Guillermo Gonzalo Mata (middle son) and wife Dianne van der Reyden, Darling Graciela Villena-Mata (youngest child of Jos), Chloe Grace Mata Crane (granddaughter) and her husband Tadd Crane; and Isabella Grace and Caden William Crane (great-grandchildren); Maria Susan Greene (daughter of the heart), and Don Perry (son of the heart).
