Josefa Garza

Garza, Josefa 83, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013 at her home in Socorro, NM. She was born in McAllen, TX on January 10, 1930 to Florencio and Alberta (Barboza) Handy. Josefa grew up in South Texas and moved to Socorro in 1965. She loved life and was quite a jokester. She enjoyed sewing and loved to dance and listen to music. She will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Epifanio Garza in 1974; her brother, Jesse Handy; her granddaughter, Yesiana Garza; and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Garza. Josefa is survived by her devoted sons, Arnulfo Garza and wife, Martha; Ramiro Garza and wife, Lora; Epifanio Garza Jr. and wife, Sherri; Robert Garza; and Florencio Garza and wife, Alma; her loving daughter, Josie Dunaway and husband, David; sisters, Elvida, Anita, Josephina and Eloisa. Josefa was very proud of her loving grandchildren, Alfredo Garza; Gabriel Garza; Donna Wilkins; Valerie Montgomery; Ramiro Garza Jr.; Samuel Garza; Willie Griffay; Frances Dunaway; James Dunaway; Sabastian Garza; Robert Garza Jr.; Cheyenne Garza; Ashley Garza; Alma De Gonzalez; Ricky Garza; Jennifer Garza; and Florencio Garza Jr.; and ten great grandchildren.
