Beloved husband, father and friend, Joseph Gene Espinoza (Joe), passed away peacefully on December 28th 2024 after fighting a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born March 19th, 1944 in Sunnyside, UT.
Joe was married and is survived by the love of his life, Lori, his 4 children, Shane Espinoza of Oregon, Pepper Espinoza and her husband Philip of Edgewood, NM, Gia Espinoza and her Pancho Chris Pacheco of Albuquerque, NM and Joel Espinoza and his wife Staci of Gardner, KS.
Joe graduated from Carbon high school in 1963. After serving in the Army, Joe attended the College of Eastern Utah where he was student body president. He then attended Weber State University earning his bachelor degree in business. After that Joe enjoyed a 30 plus year career managing at Smith’s Food and Drug. His job took him to 9 states and 47 cities. Upon retirement Joe enjoyed listening to music, dancing, and working on his “damn” 1953 MGTD, remodeling houses and trips to see family.
Joe is also survived by 3 of his 9 siblings, Frances Escondon and her husband Johnny of Chula Vista, CA, Marty Espinoza of Salt Lake City, UT and Sam Espinoza and his wife Pat of Wellington, UT. Joseph and his older brother Raymond Espinoza share the same day of their passing. They were preceded in death by parents Eloy and Mary Espinoza, brothers Jesse, David, twin brother Johnny, Anthony, Gary and step-son, Mark.
Joe loved playing and spending time with his 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He never met a stranger and was always quick to help his neighbors. He will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew him.
