Joseph Jeffrey "Jeff" Kersting

Kersting, Joseph Jeffrey "Jeff"
February 4,1956 - August 13, 2018, Jeff lost his battle with ALS on August 13, 2018. He was born in Pittsburgh ,Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh graduating with MS and BS degrees in Geology. He resided in New Orleans, LA. working as a Geophysicist for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management(BOEM). Jeff was an ardent Pittsburg Steelers fan. He loved to hike, woodwork, play music scuba dive and watch the news.

He leaves behind his wife, Kathy DeJean, Ian Kersting his son, Graham H. Burk his step- son, Jim and John Kersting brothers and many family and friends that loved him dearly.
Jeff and Kathy retired to New Mexico in 2015. He was able to enjoy the land he loved . Always ready for a hike with a twinkle in his eyes and an "okkiedookie ".
