Joseph Anthony Martin

Martin, Joseph Anthony Mr. Joseph Martin, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the age of 69. He lived in Albuquerque, NM for many years, but he felt his true home was on his property in Mora, NM. He was born in Las Vegas, NM on February 23, 1944, so of Joseph M. Martin and Sadie Lopez Martin. He has five siblings including four sisters, Della Sewell, Dora Ramirez, Priscilla Regan, Ralph Segura, and Rosanna Segura. He married Mary Francis Martin on July 8th 1972, and had three children, Alphonso Pablo Martin, Lisa Rosanna Martin-Johnson and Gina Sadie Mae Martin-Zummo. Six grandsons, Dylan Martin, Naythan Martin, Ryan Martin, Vincent Zummo, Steven Johnson and Callum Zummo. He was educated at University of New Mexico where he attained a Masters of Science, and worked most of his life as a civil engineer with the State of New Mexico and Bureau of Indian Affairs. He retired at the age of 62. Joseph enjoyed outdoor activities including, hiking, walking and astronomy; he also had a strong interest in philosophy and bible studies. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services Carlisle Chapel with Remembrance Service to follow at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, in close proximity to his parents resting place as he would have wished.
