Joseph J. Scirone

Joseph J. Scirone, 94 passed away peacefully in his home on December 7th, 2017, surrounded by his family. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, Anna H. Scirone, and brother Michel Scirone. He is survived by children Joseph Scirone, wife Cathy, of Albuquerque, Maria Monty, husband Ron, of Tijeras, Neil Scirone, wife Michelle, of New Braunfels, TX, Joann Jones, husband John Paul, of New Braunfels, TX, Mark Scirone, wife Shelly, of Las Vegas, NV, and sister Ceil Guidice, husband Rizz, of Staten Island, NY. He was blessed with 18 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Joseph was born in the Bronx on October 31st, 1923 to Guiseppe and Mary Scirone. A decorated WWII Veteran, Joseph and his wife Anna moved from Brooklyn, NY to Albuquerque, NM in 1966. Joe owned Coronado Shell from the late 60’s to early 70’s. Then owned Geno's Foods during the 1970's. Joe loved to garden, travel and spend time with his family. Also he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Italian American Social Club.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 11th, at 5:00pm, Rosary at 6:00pm at Daniels Funeral Home on Wyoming. Mass will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 12th, at 10:00 am. Procession to proceed at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45pm. A gathering will be held at the family home afterwards.

Joseph’s family would also like to send a heartful “Thank You” to all of the wonderful extended family members that have been so supportive throughout this difficult time. They would like to thank all his nurses and caregivers at Canyon Transitional Center, the Veterans Administration and Ambercare Hospice service for the exceptional care he received.
