Joseph Nicholas Tafuro

Joseph Tafuro, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on July 22, 2024 at the age of 88, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 10, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York, to Salvatore and Concetta Tafuro.  Joe's love for music began early in his life and bloomed into a successful career as an entertainer who brought joy to all he encountered. In addition to his musical pursuits, Joe found relaxation and joy in playing bocce ball and billiards. Yet his greatest delight came from spending quality time and dancing with his grandchildren – creating lasting memories that will be treasured forever. Known for his gentle spirit, light-hearted humor, steadfast faith, and boundless love, Joe leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Salvatore and Concetta, sister Connie, and brother Michael.

Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Anna Maria; his children: Michael (Loretta), Laura, and Ronnie (Jennifer); as well as his grandchildren: Silvestro, Vincent, Xavier, Olivia, Sabrina, Nicholas, Angela, Christina, and Ambrose; 12 great-grandchildren; and his precious cat,  Princess.  

A visitation in memory of Joseph will take place at Daniels Family Funerals (Vista Verde) 4310 Sara Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Services will commence with the Recitation of the Rosary Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 10:00 AM, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church located at 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho NM 87124 followed by Mass at 10:30 AM.  Entombment will then follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho NM 87124.

Pallbearers: Michael Tafuro, Ronnie Tafuro, Vincent Tafuro, Nicholas Tafuro, Ambrose Tafuro, Silvestro Muratori.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Angela Tafuro, Christina Tafuro.

Joseph Tafuro will be fondly remembered for the love he shared and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. May he rest in peace knowing that he is deeply missed by his extended family and friends.
