Joyce Anita Lowry, nee Wexler, passed away on February 4, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM. She was the daughter of Sara Rose and Marvin Wexler, born on April 22, 1927 in Chicago, IL. Her only marriage was to Capt. Jose' H. Lowry, US Army (Ret). Joyce graduated from high school in Janesville, WI and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She also completed a Masters degree in Social Work at Madison. She and Jose' lived for many years in Wisconsin, raising their family and retired to New Mexico in 1994. Joyce also traveled the world, enjoyed ballet, musicals and operas, performed in community theatre, played bridge and served in community organizations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose', son, Jonathan Lowry and her companion, Jim Blackwell. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Margo Lowry Stewart and husband Steve; son, Brian Robert Lowry and wife Renai; their children, Brie Lowry and Griffin Lowry; and by granddaughter Natalie Lowry, as well as dear in-laws, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM follow by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Wyoming Chapel, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109. Reception to follow service. A private burial, with family only, is planned at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Joyce loved the performing arts and her miniature schnauzers.
