Taylor, Joyce Lucille Age 80, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Vinita, OK on July 26, 1932, to Raymond P. and Anna Marie (Measner) Land. Joyce grew up in Denver, CO and moved to the San Antonio, NM area around 1947. She married James Monroe Taylor in 1948. Joyce loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, arts and crafts, and embroidering. She worked at the San Antonio schools for 5 years with the Foster Grandparent Program because she loved to work with children and was a member of the Friends of the Bosque del Apache. She was a Pythian Sister and a member of the Socorro Baptist Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her son, Eddie Ray Taylor. Joyce is survived by sons, Earl Taylor, and Jim Taylor and his wife, Pauline; daughters, Margaret Pino, Karen McGinnis and husband, Donald, and Mary Lockridge and husband, Billy; thirteen grandchildren, and twenty-two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, April 8, 2013, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel , 309 Garfield St, Socorro. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11:30 am at the Socorro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Earl Taylor, Jim Taylor, Mary Lockridge, Alvie Taylor, Buddy Drake, Carlos Pino.
