O'Neill, Joyce Ann Phoenix

Age 83, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2014. She was born in Cohoes, NY on September 7, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ernest J. and Mabel O. (LeClair) Phoenix.

She is survived by her eight children, Kathleen, Mike, John, Dan, Diane, Terry, Karen, and Shane; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

During her early years, her family moved often throughout upstate New York and Massachusetts but finally relocated to Troy, NY where Joyce attended St. Francis deSales Elementary School and then graduated from Troy High School. After graduation, Joyce worked as an Office Manager for International Harvester in Menands, NY before marrying John James O’Neill on February 23, 1952. Joyce devoted her life to raising her children and supporting her husband. In 1975, she relocated with her family to the southwest and enjoyed her years in Scottsdale, El Paso, and finally in Rio Rancho, NM. Joyce was a faithful servant of the Roman Catholic Church. Her interests included her children and grandchildren, knitting, and caring for her pets.

The recitation of the Rosary will be at 10:30 am with the Memorial Mass following at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM. Inurnment to follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
