Juan Pablo Valdez, Jr., 70, of Aztec, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 in Farmington after a lengthily illness. He was born January 27, 1939 in Tapacitues, New Mexico to Juan and Adelia Valdez, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and a grandson. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Wynelle L. Valdez, sons Johnny L. Valdez (Evelyn) of Aztec, Terry Valdez (Dorothy) of Wewoka, Oklahoma, Tim L. Valdez (Valerie) of Farmington, and daughter Audrey Lopez of Aztec. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sisters, Josie Sanchez, Mary Bodiford and Clorinda Skinner. Juan attended and graduated from Aztec High School. He and Wynelle were married at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Aztec in 1959. He was employed by Arapahoe Drilling Company for 30 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and football. Pallbearers will be Johnny Valdez, Terry Valdez, Tim Valdez, John W. Valdez, Josh Valdez, Eric Jones and Francisco Fernandez.
