Judith "Judy" A. Korus

Judith “Judy” A. Korus, 83, resident of Rio Rancho, NM entered eternal rest on December 28^th, 2023. Judy was born on April 12^th, 1940, in Chicago, IL to parents Chester and Phyllis Janus. She is preceded in death by her father Chester Janus, mother Phyllis Janus, brother Thomas Janus, sister Sandy Janus, and James Korus (separated). Judy is survived by her daughters, Julie R. Bernardoni (Steve L. Bernardoni), Jamie L. Korus, and Jeannie M. Korus and granddaughters Tatum C. Bernardoni, Tayla J. Bernardoni, and Jacqueline P. Troy and her three children. After graduating from Highland High School in 1958, Judy went into telecommunications for 35 years working as a telecommunicator for Illinois Bell, US West, and Mountain Bell. Judy had a special interest in teaching catechism, cooking, shopping, and attending athletic events. Judy was a devoted Catechist and taught catechism for a total of 17 years. She taught at St. Charles Borromeo Church for 2 years and then was affiliated with St. Thomas Aquinas Church, where she taught for 15 years. Judy was also a Confirmation Sponsor for her granddaughters Tatum and Tayla.  Judy also enjoyed being able to give to various Catholic charities as well as hospitals and non-profit organizations.  She is loved and will be missed by many.

The Rosary for Judy will be recited at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Friday January 12^th, 2024, at 9:45 am with a Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 am. Interment will take place at 12:00 pm at Vista Verde Memorial Park.
