Julia Martinez

MARTINEZ_Julia G. Martinez, 85, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 15 years, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009. Julia was born January 28, 1924 the daughter of Jose and Refugia Soto Gomez in Tempe, Arizona. She was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, and Our Lady of Guadalupe in Albuquerque. Julia also enjoyed gardening of flowers and other outdoor activities. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, David M. Martinez in July 2008. Julia is survived by her sons, David M. Martinez of Novato, CA, Thomas E. Martinez and wife Paula of Placitas, NM, and Daniel A. Martinez and wife Teresinha of Albuquerque, NM; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, Julie, and Justin Martinez. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2009 from 5 PM to 6 PM in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with the Rosary being recited at 6:00 PM on Sunday, December 6, 2009. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 6, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd., Rio Rancho.
