Simmons, June A. (Nordblom) Age 98, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM for nearly 14 years, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2012. She is survived by her children, Bruce Simmons and wife Danise, Barry Simmons and wife Sally, Carol Simmons and husband Lee Williams; brother-in-law, Wallace Simmons; grandchildren, Sarah page and husband Adam, Marshall Simmons and wife Jessica, Logan Simmons and wife Dorra; great-granddaughter, Hosanna Page; several nieces; one nephew and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Simmons, by her younger brother, Donald Nordblom, and by a granddaughter, Carrie Simmons. Born May 6, 1914 to Carl Nordblom and the former Adele Johnson and raised in Minnesota, June graduated from Minneapolis West High School in 1932 and later worked as an administrative assistant at the original Bank of America in Pasadena, CA. She met and married Willard Simmons and dedicated her life to supporting his military career and taking care of her family. One of her fondest memories was serving as the President of the AG Ladies (wives of officers in the Army Adjutant General Corps) and arranging for a visit by former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to Fort Jay on Governor's Island, NY. For the last four years of her life, she lived at a Beehive Home in Rio Rancho, where she was blessed with wonderful care and friendship. In deference to her wishes, no memorial service will be held. She will be interred with her beloved husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Daniels Family Funeral Services
