Justo D. Chavez

Chavez, Justo D. Age 88, a lifelong resident of Corrales, NM, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014. He was born on June 16, 1926, to Carlos and Rosita (Griego) Chavez. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mercie Chavez; son, Donny Chavez. Justo is survived by his children, Katie Bessom and husband Steve, Debby Tafoya and husband Tony, Carmen Chavez, Becky Chavez, and Darrow Everage; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Mascarenas, Monica Lesku, Brooke Bessom, Melinda Dean, Antonio Tafoya, Sara Beth Gallegos, Mia Chavez; three great-grandchildren, Tanner Dean, Avery Dean, Everly Mascarenas; siblings, Augustine, Nancy, Agnes, Isabel, Rita, Martha. Justo served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a retired Firefighter at Kirtland Air Force Base, had a love for farming and agriculture and was a beloved bartender at Sandia Bar. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 28, 2014 at San Ysidro Catholic Church, 5015 Corrales Road, Corrales, NM.
