Karen Bailey-Bowman

July 18, 1950 — September 6, 2018

Karen Catherine Bailey-Bowman passed away at her home on September 5th, 2018. She was born on the naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to Charles Francis Bailey and Mary Ruth Bailey on July 18, 1950.  She fell in love with New Mexico, living in Santa Fe and Las Cruces before settling in the Socorro area for thirty years.  She was a loving grandmother and mother; she was a friend to many in Socorro and beyond.  She will be remembered for her fierce loyalty, sharp wit, love of horses, and compassion for all things great and small.  We miss her dearly. Karen is survived by her partner Jim, her son Danny, her daughter-in-law Christine, and her grandchildren Evelyn, Penelope, and Lucia. She is predeceased by Robert Bowman, her husband of 36 years. In lieu of flowers or other gifts her family requests that donations be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention: https://afsp.org/take-action/give-a-gift/in-memoryof/

Karen's care has been entrusted to:
