Karen Debra Peterson-Gutierrez

Peterson-Gutierrez, Karen Debra life long resident of Albuquerque, N.M., passed away peacefully on October 19, 2013. She was born October 24, 1958, daughter of John and Beverly Peterson. She is survived by husband, Vincent Gutierrez; sons, Adam and Corey Webster; step daughters, Amy and Vanessa Gutierrez; brothers, James and Kevin Peterson; sisters, Lisa Becker-McCarey and Nan Becker, and companions, Tillie her dog, Polly and Pearl the cats. She graduated from Del Norte High School in 1976 and earned her masters degree in special education from NMSU. She taught special education in New Mexico for 35 years. Primarily with APS at Madison Middle School and won the Crystal Apple award for excellence in special education in 1998. Her ashes will be spread at her family cabin in Pecos N.M. where she spent her summers, fishing and enjoying her love for the outdoors.
