Karin Kirkland

Kirkland, Karin passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 23, 2014. She was and is much loved and will be missed by her family - husband Russ of 53 years, her daughters Le Ann and Dana, sons-in-law Patrick and John, granddaughters Holly and Hillary, and her sister Jane and her family - as well as countless dear friends. Karin was born in Morgantown, WV. She graduated from McKeesport High School in McKeesport and attended Grove City College, both in Pennsylvania. Russ and Karin moved to Socorro in 1979 to operate the Sears catalogue store, and Karin subsequently owned and operated the JC Penny catalogue store. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and had passions for gardening, jewelry making, and animal welfare. She volunteered with APAS and worked at the Socorro city animal shelter. Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 304 McCutcheon Ave., Socorro.
