Karl Joseph Max

April 30, 1931 — October 5, 2020

We said goodbye to Daddy this morning. He was ready to join Mother and Jeff. Our hearts are heavy, but we were so blessed to have him in our homes these 7 1/2 years. He was so proud of his family. He had a distinguished career as a USAF Lt. Colonel intelligence officer, decorated veteran of both Korean and Vietnam Wars. Most of all he was the best father any child could hope to have. Full of love, laughter and antics. He could change the lyrics of any song to make you laugh, sing hymns or croon the oldies. Daddy was an accomplished athlete-extraordinary golfer, boxer, hunter/marksman and bowler. He was a first generation American of German and Italian descent.

He leaves behind many who loved him fiercely. Nancye Cole (Danny), Kitty Ouellette (Tim) and Kraig Max. Grandchildren Katie Thompson (Andy), Ryan Burke (Lisa), Jillian Sherrod (Bill), Tiffany Roberson (James) and Alex Cole; Jacob Ouellette (Anya) and Morgan Morrow (Aaron); and Harrison Max. Ten precious great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Chip, Doris, and Mary and brother John; sister-in-law, Carol and many nieces and nephews.

Interment will take place with full military honors at Arlinton National Cemetery at a later date.

We will miss you, Daddy, Love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!
