Kasey Elizabeth Fayter

Kasey Elizabeth Fayter, of Albuquerque, NM, died in the early morning of December 5, 2020. Kasey succumbed from a tragic accident while enjoying the beautiful New Mexico sunshine the afternoon before. Kasey is survived by her lifelong partner Bruce Aiuto of Albuquerque, her only child Nicholas Fayter of Denver, Colorado, her sister Kimberly Valdez of Albuquerque, her warm and loving home full of Miniature Schnauzers, and her turtles. Kasey was born on December 23, 1965 in Raton, New Mexico to Robert Valdez and Marylin Valdez. She graduated from Del Norte High School in 1983 and started her family shortly thereafter. Eventually, after many years at Presbyterian Hospital serving as a Clerical Supervisor, Kasey was fortunate to retire with Bruce in 2019. While Kasey was only just beginning to enjoy her retirement, she spent her time taking care of her animals, exploring her creativity with jewelry-making and painting, riding her bicycle, and taking trips to visit her son in Denver. Kasey will always be remembered for her vibrant smile, uplifting personality, and ability to be a mother to anyone who needed her. Kasey had an everlasting love for animals especially Miniature Schnauzers. Over the past decade, Kasey and Bruce have rescued at least a dozen Minis, providing them a safe, healthy, and happy home.

We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Animal Humane New Mexico in her honor. Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 am on January 8, 2021 at The Queen of Heaven Church in Albuquerque. At the time of this obituary, funeral services will be held inside the church and all are welcome to join, this is however subject to change. Masks and social distancing measures will be taken. For those wishing to remain in their vehicle during the services, an audio broadcast may be available.
