Gould, Cora Katherine

Age 93, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at home surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Winner, SD on September 25, 1924, to George B and Lottie Carter Owen.

In 1942, she graduated high school in Galesburg, Illinois. She earned a nursing degree in 1945 from West Suburban School of Nursing in Oak Park, Illinois.

Kate married Frank W. Gould (1924-1993) in 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. They lived in Winfield, Illinois from 1949 till 1968 when they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She worked at Lovelace Hospital as a registered nurse till her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, traveling, watching golf, and needlework.

She is survived by her six daughters, Linda and John Rutz, Tucson, AZ; Pat and Ron Janik, Wheaton, Il; Cathy and Doug Henson, Aiken, SC; Dar and Danny Ferdinandus, Rio Rancho, NM; Diane and Juan (deceased) Garcia, Rio Rancho, NM; Sandy and Mike Vanderbeek, Fallon, NV. She is survived by 20 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren

In lieu of flowers donations may be given in Katherine's honor to Hospice Compassus, 4801 Lang Ave. Suite 100, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Visitation will be held February 13, 2018, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Interment will take place at Vista Verde Memorial Park on February 13, 2018, at 12:30 pm, following the visitation.
