Katherine (Kitty) S. House Sheahan

SHEAHAN - Katherine (Kitty) House Sheahan, 84, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 after a brief illness. A devoted wife, mother and enthusiastic volunteer for many organizations and charities, including Lovelace Westside Hospital for over 20 years. Kitty was a past officer and a lifetime member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha philanthropic sorority. She loved to play bridge and if she couldn't find a foursome she would teach a class until she had players. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, John F. Sheahan, Major, USAF (Ret.) in 1995 and her son, Timothy J. Sheahan, in February 2008. Kitty is survived by her remaining children: son John Michael Sheahan and his wife, Margaret of Las Vegas, Nevada; daughter Patricia and husband, David Shodean of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Sheahan of Herndon, Virginia; daughter Peggy and husband Timothy Reed of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; son Charles Sheahan and his wife, Judy of Tucson, Arizona; son Joseph Sheahan of Las Vegas, Nevada; son Stephen Sheahan and his wife Bonnie also of Las Vegas, Nevada. Her 9 grandchildren; Kyle Johnson of Downers Grove, Illinois; Derek Johnson of Naperville, Illinois; Erin Johnson-Kruft of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; Michael Reed of Las Vegas, Nevada; Michelle Crawford of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Carey Sheahan of Ellicott City, Maryland; Kristi Hulit of Columbia, Maryland; Zachary Sheahan of Herndon, Virginia; Sean Sheahan of Tucson, Arizona; and her 12 great-grandchildren who will all miss her welcoming embraces and beautiful smiles. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a contribution be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in our mother's name, Katherine S. Sheahan.
