Age 75, passed away early Thursday morning, October 8, 2015. She was born in Chicago, IL and moved to New Mexico in 1945. Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Tom R. Benavidez; sons, Tomas R. Benavidez and wife, Melissa, Michael R. Benavidez and son/grandson Michael M. Benavidez and wife, Vickie and their sons, Michael-Rey and Lawerence Benavidez; granddaughters, Danielle A. Sufuentes (Juan), Justeen K. Benavidez-Sanderson (Evan), Alexondria R. Benavidez, Marissa Benavidez-Ricci, Zaylee R. Benavidez; grandson, Evan Ludi; great granddaughter, Blue K. Sufuentes; sister Joseph Marie Jacobsen OSB; brother Donald Jacobsen and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, youngest son, David R. Benavidez; granddaughter Hope Benavidez and great grandson Tomas Rey Benavidez. Kathy will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015, 12:00 pm, at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona Rd SW. Interment to follow at Polvadera Cemetery, Polvadera, NM.
