Kathleen Helen Roberts of Rio Rancho, NM fell asleep in death February 22, 2023 at Rust Hospital in Rio Rancho, NM. She was comforted by friends and reassured of Jehovah God's love for her as she took her last breath. She was born October 27th, 1943 in Abington, Pennsylvania to the late William and Marianne Roberts. The youngest of three, she spent her early years there. Kathy later moved to Tennessee with her parents, and graduated high school in La Follette. Baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on April 24th, 1956, she enjoyed studying the bible and attending meetings at several different congregations over the years. The final one being Mountainview. Sadly, In 1972, Kathy's father suffered a heart attack and passed away. Not long after, her mother, Nan decided it would be best to move to New Mexico for a fresh start. The pair left Danboro, PA and headed together out west. One of Kathy's qualities was her self-sacrificing spirit. This was demonstrated in a large way by working full time in order to support her mother, Nan, in her ministry helping numerous individuals study the bible and dedicate their lives to serve Jehovah. She accepted a job working for the city of Rio Rancho in the early 80's, starting out in their small library at the time. Over the years, because of her skills and abilities managing budgets and projects, she retired as an administrative assistant from city hall in 2007. Although Kathy was shy and reserved in personality, those who really got to know her were blessed to experience her generosity, sense of humor, and rare ability to be a caring listener.
She was extremely grateful for the life she had been given. Her big heart demonstrated this in the actions taken often to help those in need by whatever means possible. Some of her hobbies included reading, gardening, crafts, baking, and cooking. If anyone was fortunate enough to eat one of her meals, it was always a delicious experience! There are so many memories and stories over the course of Kathy's life that would fill many pages. She will be remembered as a very loyal servant of God. Faithful to the end.
Kathy is survived by her sister, Barbara A. Atkins; brother, David T. Roberts; nephews, Timothy (Tawnee) Potts, David (Pamela) Potts, and Stephen (Laena) Potts, Michael (Ashley) Potts; great nephews, Spencer, & Hunter Potts; great nieces, McKenzie Rose & Alexis Brooklyn Potts; as well as a lifetime of friends who will all miss her greatly until we see her again in paradise.
A Memorial will be held virtually by ZOOM on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 1:00 pm Mountain time.
