Kathy A. Prangley

PRANGLEY - Kathy A. Prangley, 52, a resident of Placitas, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 with her family at her bedside. Kathy was born May 14, 1957 the daughter of Melvin and Theresa Brest in Allegan, Michigan. Kathy married her husband Jim in 1979 and to escape the cold Michigan winters moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1981. Kathy obtained her Bachelor's degree from the University of Albuquerque in 1985 and shortly after earned her CPA. Kathy operated a successful Accounting practice in New Mexico for the past 25 years. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Theresa Brest. Kathy is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jim Prangley of Placitas, New Mexico, two sons, Sean Prangley and wife Andrea of Albuquerque, and Troy Prangley of Albuquerque; Brother Bruce Brest and wife Penny of Colorado; and Sister Linda Mackey of Wayland, Michigan. As Kathy was an avid reader, in lieu of flowers her family is requesting that memorial contributions be made in Kathy's name to the Placitas Community Library, P.O. Box 445, Placitas, NM 87043.
