Kee Steah

December 15, 1920 — April 11, 2011

Steah was born in Del Muerto, Arizona. Steah was born into the Water Flow Together People Clan and born for the Bitter Water People Clan. Steah was born in Del Muerto and lived in Chinle most of his life. The skills he learned as a construction worker took him many places throughout the U.S. He worked at power plants as a member of the union. He liked to tell jokes and share stories of his travels. Survivors include his sons, Nelson Steah, Ben Steah, Johnson Steah; daughters, Evelyn Steah, LaVerne Steah, Leah Steah, Lorina Antonio, Zonnie Slivers, Ella Mae Taylor; brothers, Kenneth Clark, Wayne Clark, Herman Clark, Ned Clark, Raymond Clark; 36 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren. Steah was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Steah; parents, Yazzie Clark, Angelo Clark; sisters, Delores Teller, Zonnie John; Olin Slivers, Zane Antonio, Francis Antonio. Pallbearers will be Johnson Steah, Ben Steah, Ambrose Steah, Elbert Taylor, Robertson Taylor, Alonzio Steah, Jonathan Steah, Nelson Steah Jr. The family will receive relatives and friends at Steah’s residence at Valley Store, 4 miles north of Bashas, following services.
