KING, KENNETH
Age 73, passed away on October 30, 2011 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. King was born in Dallas, Texas on May 26, 1938, to Everett King and Etta Wheat King. Mr. King graduated from St. Mark��?�s School of Texas in 1956. He served in the Air National Guard. He was well known in the Grants area, owning several businesses including Grants Music Company in 1965 that later became King Communications, which specialized in commercial two-way radio and other electronics. He was a Volunteer with the Grants Fire Department for 52 years. He was also a life member of the Tri-State Firefighter Association. He served as the Commander-in-Chief of New Mexico Mounted Patrol in the Grants area. He was involved with the Bernalillo County Citizens Unit (Search and Rescue). He was a radio site trustee for the Mt. Taylor amateur radio repeaters, also a life member of the Upper Rio FM Society, the ARRL and CARCUS, and the Cactus Radio Intertie club system. He is survived by his wife, Patricia D. King of the family home in Grants; his son, Michael King and his wife Rhetta of Grants; seven grandchildren, including Christopher Michael King, Charles Page and his wife Mari King, Corey Kenneth King, John Gallegos and his wife Angelina, Kristin Gallegos, Ashley Vigil and her husband Matthew; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Suzie Duran, and Peggy (Brianna Luigi) Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Etta King, and his son, Christopher Glenn King. A Visitation will be held at 9:00 am, Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Grants Church of Christ with a Funeral Service led by Matthew Clark following at 10:00 am at Grants Memorial Park, with honors by Grants Fire and Rescue. A reception will be held at the Church of Christ Community Hall. Pallbearers will be, Paul Choc, Harry Hall, Tony Williams, Robert Hays, Tim Stephens, and Vince Buscema.
