Kenneth Lee Long, 55, of Aztec, passed away after a long courageous fight with cancer on Thursday, May 26, 2011, in Aztec. He was born December 1, 1955 in Tucumcari, NM to Leon D. and Jo Ann Long. Ken attended school in Aztec while growing up at Cedar Hill, NM. He served in the Air Force. Later he became a licensed carpenter and a General Contractor in Albuquerque. He and his wife moved to Las Vegas, NV. Nevada is where he worked as a carpenter for a number of years, working on many of the large hotel casinos and many other projects. Upon retirement from the trades, he moved back to Aztec to be near his family. He was preceded in death by his father, L.D. Long and his brother, Norman Long. Ken is survived by his wife and friend, Wally of Las Vegas; his mother, Jo Ann Long of Aztec; sister, Marsha Ann Cockrell and husband Harmon of Aztec; brothers, Donald Long of Aztec and Jim Long and wife Deana of Aztec; grandmother, Lillian Long of Albuquerque; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
