Kenneth Silva

Silva, Kenneth 29, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2013. He was born in Socorro, NM on September 10, 1983 to Lawrence Silva and Veronica Gonzales. Kenneth was a life long resident of Socorro. He graduated from Socorro High in 2002 and enlisted into the United States Army for four years. He served in the 20th Engineer Brigade (Combat) (Airborne Corps). Kenneth was a very compassionate person and made friends with everyone he met. He always knew just what to say and always left you with a thought or a quote to think about. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time with friends, golfing, football, fishing, and he was an expert at Chess and even Poker. Kenneth was an avid Denver Broncos Fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Michael Silva in 1986; his grandfather, Avelino Gonzales Sr.; and his baby nephew, Steven Michael Xavier Silva. Kenneth is survived by his loving mother, Veronica Gonzales and companion Arturo Benavidez; his devoted brothers, Lawrence M. Silva Jr. and companion Tasha; Steven M. Silva and companion, Angel; his grandparents, Maria C. Gonzales; and Mike and Rosemary Silva; his nephew, Gabriel Silva; one nephew on the way; and many other loving family members and close friends. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services - Socorro Chapel, 309 Garfield St, Socorro.The Holy Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00 am at San Miguel Catholic Church, 403 El Camino Real , Socorro followed by a Communion Service at 10:30 am with Deacon Mike Ybarra. Interment will take place in the San Miguel Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Lawrence M. Silva Jr., Steven M. Silva, Ramon Terrazas, Michael Roberts, Kenny Rivera and Miguel Martinez. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Dyslin, Aaron Gonzales and Nico Gonzales.
