Kevin Joe Arthur Garlington
Sept. 26, 1961 - Feb. 12, 2011 Kevin Joe Arthur Garlington, 49, of Farmington, was called home to be with our heavenly Father at 3:03 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011. He was born Sept. 26, 1961, in Farmington, to George and Donna Garlington. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1980, and was a member of the Rodeo Club, a volunteer firefighter, was in choir, wrestling and martial arts. He worked as a mechanic until he was accepted into the New Mexico State Police Academy at the age of 26. Upon completion of the NMSP Academy, he was stationed in Datil, serving his probationary period where he then transferred to Farmington, to be close to his family. He completed his distinguished career as a NMSP officer, retiring in December of 2006. He then moved on to serving his community further as a Security Supervisor at San Juan Regional Medical Center, where he was MVP for the month of February.
Kevin was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and devoted boyfriend.
He is survived by his parents, George and Donna Garlington of Bloomfield; his girlfriend, Tracy Davis, her sons, Jeremy and Devin Davis and her two grandchildren; his children, Staci, Miranda and Tyler Garlington and Serena Owens and his two grandchildren; sister, Georganna Garlington of Bloomfield; brothers, Buck Garlington of Tularosa, Michael Garlington of Long Beach, Calif., and Trey Garlington of Albuquerque; grandparents, Chris Garlington of Bloomfield and Fern Williams of Alamogordo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed and those that knew him were always left with a smile and hope in their hearts. He brought joy to countless people on a daily basis. In conclusion, a dear member of our community will be sorely missed.
Memorial services will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at the Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington St. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Travis Wells, Gary Ross, Darryl Roquemore, Jeremy Davis, Devon Davis and Richard Heffner.
