Maj. Jeffrey Kim Pepperell, USAF, Ret., passed away on Tuesday, August 21st, 2012, at the age of 72. He was born January 21, 1940, in Pontiac, Michigan to Pete and Betty Pepperell. They moved in the late 1940s to the Los Angeles area, where Kim grew up. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1957 at the age of 17, and in 1962 received his commission in the US Air Force as a Navigator/Electronic Warfare Officer. Kim primarily flew in F-105s, accumulating well over 600 combat hours. He was highly decorated for his service, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, and retired from active duty in 1981. After his retirement, he continued his education, earning two Masters Degrees in Information Systems and Information Science. Kim used his technology expertise to further his career in aerospace, government contracting and private industry for many years, and was employed at Kirtland AFB, NM as a software test engineer at the time of his passing. Kim is survived by his beloved wife Kay, his sister Nicki Guinaugh and husband John, brother Jon Pepperell and wife Diane, daughters Kevyn Taylor and husband Art, Keri Davidson and husband Charles, son Peter Pepperell, 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. A memorial service will be held at the Southern Nevada Veteran��?�s Memorial Cemetery, Monday, October 8, 2012, at 2:00 pm. The cemetery is located at 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV 89005. Memorial donations may be sent to the American Bladder Cancer Society (www.bladdercancersupport.org) in Kim��?�s honor.
