Lance Tytor

Always full of surprises, our beloved son and brother, Lance Eric Tytor passed away suddenly on April 14, 2024 at his home at the age of 39.  Lance’s good humor and generous spirit touched everyone he met.   Always ready for adventure, Lance never let life’s challenges hold him back.

Lance was born to Elaine (Nerdrum) Tytor and Henry Tytor in Gillette, WY on July 23, 1984, joining his older brother Luke. He lived in several places besides Wyoming, with family while growing up including Colorado, Nevada, northern California, and Arizona, finally settling in Albuquerque, NM in 1993.  He graduated from Eldorado High School of Albuquerque in 2003.

Lance played baseball, soccer, and hockey during his school years.  He loved hockey the best and spent about 8 years while in middle school and high school with the New Mexico Amateur Hockey League of Albuquerque.  He also enjoyed paintball occasionally.

His current favorite hobby was golfing with his father and friends. He also like to go hiking, camping, travel, and spending time with family and friends.   

Lance started his career with the movie industry as a prop carpenter about 18 years ago. Working mostly as a Forman or General Forman in later years. He also traveled to several places, to work on movie sets in Boston, Montana, California, Louisiana, and Georgia. He was an accomplished woodworker, supervisor and would help anyone he could to learn the skills. He worked well with others and loved taking the lead.

Known for his generous spirit and love for family and friends, he will be missed by all who have known him. Lance’s family asked that he be remembered for the joy he brought to others in life and not by the sadness of his passing.  

He is survived by Elaine (Nerdrum) Tytor and Henry Tytor (parents) and brother Luke Tytor and wife (CJ).  Plus, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.    

We invite those who loved him to a Celebration of Life to be held at Daniels Funeral Home, 7601 Wyoming Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109, from 10 AM to 12 PM, Saturday morning, May 4, 2024.  Please bring your memories and stories to share.

A light lunch and refreshments will be served at the Tytor home immediately following the service at 5600 Carruthers St. NE., Albuquerque, WY. 87111 for anyone who would like to join us.

Lance will be interred at a family burial location near Stanley, Wisconsin sometime in July/Aug with a graveside service and lunch following at a location yet to be determined.
