LaNell Juanita Wilson, 86, of Bloomfield, known to all as “Mamaw,” died on Saturday, June 25, 2011, at her home. She was born March 15, 1925, in Kanima, Okla., to Fred and Minney Moore.
Mamaw had a very kind heart. She loved her family more than anything. Not a day went by where she didn’t worry about her grandkids. She was always sure to tell you she loved you when she saw you. Mamaw had a very special friend, Diane Johnson, who she considered family. Another special friend was Lorenzo Valdez, who would stay nights with her in the hospital when she was sick. A special thanks to them for enriching her life. She will be missed by all, especially her partner in crime, her great-great-grandson, Tennessee, who she lived with the last year of her life. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James E. Smith; her second husband, James E. Wilson; daughter, Serena C. Richardson; her parents, Fred and Minney Moore; brothers, Alvin Moore and Marvin Moore; and sisters, Gertie Schultz, Deama McCullough and Helen Stubblefield.
She is survived by her son, Robin (Helen) Wilson; granddaughter, JaNell (Joe) Herrera; grandson, James (Louise) Richardson; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She had unconditional love for all. Rest in peace, Mamaw, we love you and will miss you every day. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington. Pastor Raul Granillo will officiate. Interment will follow the services. The reception will follow the the interment, at Cross Roads Community Church, 2400 N. Butler Ave. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Andrew Richardson, Dillon Strunk, Derrick Strunk, Joe Herrera, Joseph Valdez and Lorenzo Valdez.
