Larry Delano Renick

Larry Delano Renick, 74, passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, peacefully at this home in Aztec, NM of natural causes. He was born Feb. 18, 1934, in Killeen, TX, to Jarrett C. and Gladys (Craft) Renick. Larry attended Killeen High School. He married June Vahrenkamp in 1954. They were married 54 years. He served his country in the Texas National Guard Reserves. Larry worked in many aspects of construction most of his life. He was a fine carpenter, concrete finisher and house builder. He left as Dam Superintendent at Stillhouse Hollow Lake with the Corp of Commercial Engineers in 1974 to start his commercial business selling cedar fencing posts across the country. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an accomplished elk and deer hunter and loved a good fish fry with family and friends. He moved to in Aztec in 2001. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and his sister June Bolick. He is survived by his wife, June (Vahrenkamp) Renick; his son, Gant (Melissa) Renick; his daughters, Debbie (Larry) Garner, Kathi (Creig) Wallace; sister, Barbara Sue Smith; brother, Ronnie Renick; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Gant Renick, Larry Garner, Dave Whitaker, Kyle Renick, Creig Wallace, and Robert Lara. Larry is in the care of: Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec 405 S.
