Larry M. Tanner, 70, of Farmington, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Farmington from natural causes. Larry Tanner was born to the late Arthur and Vera Tanner in Laramie, Wyoming in 1938. He attended public schools in Laramie. In 1955 he joined the National Guard. After training, he joined the Army. He spent most of his military career in Germany as the head of the motor pool. He was honorably discharged in 1963. He married Martha Rodda in 1956 in Minnesota, and they later divorced. They had three children - Doug, Mike and Carol. He worked road construction before joining Collins Communications in Gillette, Wy in 1965. In 1973 he and two partners purchased Collins Communications. He sold his business and retired in 2002. He married Dorothy Tanner in 1990. He spent nine years on the Campbell Conty School Board. He was also an active member of the American Legion and the Moose. He enjoyed many outdoor activities, golfing, and camping. Larry and Dorothy relocated to Farmington, NM in 2004. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his brother, Les Tanner, and his sons, Doug Tanner (Pam), Mike Taner, Chris Tyler (Leah), and his daughter Erica Whitney (Aaron) as well as eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Tanner. Larry is in the care of: Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home 103 E. Ute Street Farmington, NM (505) 325-8688
