Hutchinson, Lawrence W.
March 14, 1920 - February 4, 2016

Lawrence Hutchinson, son of Robert and Julia Hutchinson, born in Clare, Michigan, made his home for the last 35 years in Rio Rancho. He had moved from Flint, Michigan in 1980 after retiring from a career in the U.S. Postal Service.  Mr. Hutchinson was also a proud WWII Veteran having served two 4-year tours in Germany where he met Elizabeth Margarete Bauer (later called Margaret).  They fell in love, married and made a long, happy life together until Margaret passed away in 1989.  Mr. Hutchinson is survived by his three daughters: Ursula Robinson from Lake George, Michigan; Cherie Beckstrom from Spokane, Washington and Lori Hoffman from San Diego, California; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grand children and 2 great, great grandchildren.  He is survived by his nieces and nephews, children of his four siblings-Algernon, Iris, Marie and Norman--and grand nieces and nephews.  One of his nephews, Bob Watson of Sheridan, Oregon, an active Veteran, called everyday to talk with him by telephone.

Mr. Hutchinson was a regular and dedicated member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Rio Rancho.  His faith was an integral and important part of his life.  Mr. Hutchinson lived independently until three years ago when he moved to an assisted living facility, Casa de Paz, where he daily entertained the staff with his sense of humor, favorite jokes and interesting stories from his life.

Mr. Hutchinson was interred next to his beloved wife at Santa Fe National Cemetery.  May he rest in peace.  May his memory be a blessing.  To view information or leave a condolence, please visit www.danielsfuneral.com
