Lawrence “Larry” Torres, age 61, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020. He was born in El Paso, TX on July 12, 1959 to Fernando Sr. and Enedina Torres.
He was preceded in death by his parents’ Fernando Sr. and Enedina and his sister, Marylou Armendariz.
Larry is survived and will be greatly missed by his daughter, Susan Torres; grandchildren, Dominic and Jazmine Anderson; brother, Fernando Torres II and wife, Mary Jane; sister, Lillian Armijo and husband Edward; brother, Angel Torres and wife, Trish; brother in law, Eloy Armendariz and the mother of his only child and forever friend, Sheryl Baca. Larry also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, whom he loved dearly.
Larry graduated from West Mesa High School in 1978. Although he would face many physical challenges after a major stroke at just 27 years old, Larry made sure he lived his life to the fullest. He was the life of every party, always laughing the loudest and smiling the biggest and of course using his favorite term of endearment, “babe,” to all the ladies. He loved his 1969 Chevy Chevelle, the Dallas Cowboys, and good food but especially a chicharrone burrito from Garcia’s.
We will celebrate Larry’s life on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 6pm at Daniels Memorial Chapel located at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Masks will be required.
